About UsBoerne ISD serves the citizens of Boerne, TX and surrounding communities. It is a "Destination District" in Texas with fast growth and high standards of education. Two middle schools provide quality education to 6-8th grade students. The North and South middle school choirs are directed by Mr. John Tucker.

Who We Are |
Boerne MS Choirs are open to students enrolled in either Boerne MS North or Boerne MS South. Choir fulfills a required fine arts credit under the TEA guidelines. The choir programs perform public concerts and in addition compete in TMEA (Texas Music Educators) / UIL events throughout the school year. The focus of the choir is music education, covering a wide array of musical styles, from various historical time periods, as well as literacy in reading music.

About Our Director |
Mr. Tucker is in his third year with BISD and 21st year as a music educator, with an emphasis in the vocal arts. He has worked with choirs for over 24 years, first as a church musician and also as a music educator. He has degrees from Tarleton State University (TX Teacher Certificate), Hardin-Simmons University (BA Music) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MM Vocal Performance). He is a frequent TMAA, UIL and invited contract adjudicator for choral events around the state. Choirs under his direction have consistently earned "Superior" ratings at UIL contest and other choral events. He is excited to be in Boerne to grow two middle school programs, with huge potential, into thriving choral programs. He has two daughters (and two dogs).
